The Amiga 1200 was a wedge-style computer. It was basically a thick keyboard with a motherboard underneath and the floppy drive on one side, a PCMCIA connection on the other and lots of ports along the back.
It was expandable via a trapdoor slot on the bottom, which allowed processor and memory upgrades and a 2.5″ IDE header on the motherboard. I had to run a long ribbon cable out of the back to an external enclosure where I put a 120MB 3.5″ harddrive. I also had a 68030 accelerator (I can’t remember the specs or speed though).
There are far more expansions available these days, which I will be blogging about soon.
